I have also been to russia once. Also St. Petersburg. But I was a kid, so I have no deep impressions. But...I do think that the reason why you & many others "liked" the city is because it is basically just European city designed & built by Europeans...just on territory of russia (I am exaggerating a bit, but that's the case basically). It was built on the location of a former Swedish city/fortress (cause the area used to belong to Sweden before the city was established. It (the impressive palaces & old parts of the city) was designed by Italians. A lor of the pretty marble & granite that some of the famous buildings are made of/have in their interior are from Finland/(Finnish) Karelia. It was basically designed to be European looking....that was the whole idea behind the city (that it would look like some place in Europe, that it would look familiar/impress Europeans)

Your guest, Daniel, says it the best. This is also how I see the language issue in Baltics & Ukraine (and every other country on russian border, formely occupied by them). I may looo at it this way a bit more harshly than him though. When I see vatniks making arguments online about allowing "russian speakers study in russian" in these countries, all I hear is "I support destroying the future of these children. To me the russian speakers who demand their kids get education in russian in foreign countries are mildly abusing their children. They are destroying their own children's future...career/job options etc. If we leave out the option of them just spewing russian propaganda, I simply do not understand why anyone would make the argument of continue russian language education in all these countries. The previous generations are a great example why that should not continue in all these countries. The very old people are one thing...they were old already when iron curtain fell, but the current middle-aged, who have lived all/most of their lives in independent countries, who have not integrated, are proof...that if the russians (who did not return home, when SU fell, and chose to remain in their new homelands) do not learn the local languages & integrate during school years, they cannot do it "on their own." And they do not seem to understand that their issues about low income, poorer/less options available to them etc..are all cause they have not learned the local languages & integrated. Its not cause their "host countries" are bad & treat minorities not well...its cause of their own (or their parents) choices...to not learn local languages, to not integrate. But the vatniks fail to understand this & see the real roots of their issues- Its only logical that when you move abroad & do not speak the local language (well) yet, you have less options. But learn the language, and you can work in your specialty, and that opens so many more doors for you.

That’s the biggest fallacy! Congress, passed military aid for Ukraine, including Javelins, with a Veto-Proof Supermajority. Trump tried to block it in exchange for dirt on Joe Biden. Zelensky didn’t have any dirt, so couldn’t give it to him. Russian operatives manufactured some dirt, so now Trump love’s Russia and hates Ukraine. In his narcissistic brain, Ukraine was mean to me, I don’t like them, Russia was nice to me, I like them. People in Europe just don’t understand how our system works. Right now there are people actively trying to break the system of checks and balances. The only thing that stops them is individuals in positions of power doing the right thing. Trump was stopped from breaking the system 4 years ago. This time he vows to put loyalists in place who won’t stop him. We cannot afford to be complacent for one minute. People voting in the right people, people with integrity, is the only thing that protects us.

It is a myth that Trump is anti-NATO. His comments that the left want people to interpret as being anti-NATO were intended to force European NATO countries to increase defense spending to the annual 2% the alliance wants them to. These 2 Estonians seem to understand Trump better than a lot of Americans. And they've also figured out Biden won't make it to 2028. This election is effectively between Trump and Harris. However, no: US military bases are not sovereign US territory. They are governed by agreements with the host countries which, especially where nuclear weapons are concerned, may exclude host nationals from critical areas but the host country can reverse these agreements and ask the US to leave. The Philippines did. Also, in eastern Europe, the new US troop facilities usually are just a US presence on host country military bases rather than exclusively US bases. This, I know, will be the case in Poland.

Your guest was fairly spot on. I just want to say The U.S. is a Representative Republic as we aren't a Democracy as many try to imply this jolt of buffoonery. As we are very Proud to be Individuals in most way's all aspects. But it is very hard to be granted this Bliss of Freedom and also have it shall i say Rural Citizens versus Urbanites. These clash in so many ways, as one pays Rent and the other pays the Property Tax, and Paints and Maintains the living aspects of their home. City Taxes are demanding, but care and respect for their Public assets too give Vandals a paint can and that piece cost twice as much too, only get neglected down the road. So this is what Americans clash on and we think separately but together we strive for our Land, SEA, and Air. As Individuals are left alone are to be far greater than a Monolithic Society. I'll never understand how you can equate Ukraine and Israel though. Basic logic breaks down when you consider the scale of Palestinian deaths (caused by Israel and not Hamas provoking Israel or using "human shields" or whatever). Artur, Daniel understands America better than you. For that reason he is able to see Trump defined by his actions and not by his words, personal manners, or public image. Unfortunately, Trump's image has beeb formed by an adversarial leftist media and unelected deep-state activists that look to the CCP as a model to govern the masses. They are not democratic, even leaders such as Bill Gates among them. I believe we are doomed if Biden wins another 4 years. Trump supports policies that are good for America and he will not abandon Ukraine. With a revitalized, democratic and free market Ukraine in conjunction with Poland, I see Eastern Europe rising in influence to be equal to Western Europe in wealth and political strength in an even stronger EU and NATO. I describe myself as a conservative libertarian Republican. And I support military aid to Ukraine because I see many parallels with Hitler's takeover of the Sudetenland and Putin's takeover of Ukraine. Prime Minister Chamberlin declared "Peace in Our Time" after securing der Fuher's promise of wanting no more. We folded on Sudetenland and look at what followed. The same will occur with Putin if he is not stopped. We will pay a much more painful price later if Putin is not defeated here and now. I find it very odd that politicians become very concerned about corruption and fraud of our funds when associated with support of Ukraine, but wink at the hundreds of billions wasted on domestic programs. Do not be so duplicitous. Do not attack Ukraine's military support, but attack corruption and waste throughout the federal budget and we will find more than enough to assist Ukraine with the resources it needs. I would rather help Ukraine than see my tax dollars spent on a bloated welfare system that is unable to show little value at all. Russia has been abusing its neighbors for one thousand years of imperialistic expansion. A defeat in Ukraine will possibly give Russia an incentive to mend its ways, find a new direction of collaboration with the democracies, and join civilized nations in cooperative benefits for all of our people instead of waging ongoing wars ad nauseam. What we are giving Ukraine is miniscule and pales compared to what the federal trough doles out to lobbyist insiders. For the last two years, all we have been giving, to a great extent, are excess military armaments that were scheduled to be scrapped or replaced with newer arms. For this we have been writing off the dollars expensed as the cost of acquisition of those donated arms. What a dodge on the American people. In regards to the cost of supporting Ukraine's freedom, it is another example of pay now or pay exponentially more later. Ukraine's freedom ultimately is our freedom secured. Our best course of action is to accelerate the military aid and the sanctions against Ukraine's enemies. Tear away the bureaucratic obstructions and get the job done sooner than later., That is what will save lives and corral a dangerous Putin.
